A knock on the door

How long have you lived in Whatcom County?
I've been living in whatcom county for four years

Was it easy for you to find employment?
I moved here for a job interview and got the job then continued on with the same company after albertsons closed. So it was pretty easy for me but I think I was just in the right place at the right time.

Do you feel connected?
I do now but it took quite a while. I don't know if its because I'm a western student living off campus pretty far from campus or because I only knew a handful of people in bellingham and had a hard time fitting in.

Can you share an experience that defines how you feel about Whatcom County?
I feel like less so whatcom county but especially the neighborhood I live in is big on community support. A few years ago I was in a rough spot and I got a knock on my door. One of my neighbors (and good friends, we met working together) and her mother was at my door with a small feel good package for me. This is just one of the small gestures that showed me the meaning of support and how it can build a community.
