Our longest-running Program, Alternatives to Military Services (AMS), is looking for a quarter-time (10h/week) paid Coordinator. AMS visits every high school in Whatcom County twice a year, offering vital information on the realities of war and helping youth fact-check the promises of military recruiters. AMS Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of managing this program, including collaborating with WPJC’s Executive Director, school partners, volunteers, interns and Board of Directors to schedule visits, recruit, train and retain volunteers and produce relevant outreach materials. WPJC is looking for a quarter-time (10h/week) paid intern to support our organization. As an intern, you will be involved in all aspects of our work, from helping to plan and participate in programs such as Alternatives to Military Service, to developing digital marketing materials for events, talks and workshops, as well as supporting fundraising efforts for the Center. In September we’re hosting our biggest fundraiser and educational event of the year: International Day of Peace, and you will be expected to collaborate and work closely with our planning committee to prepare for the event.
