Nikkita Oliver, keynote speakerNikkita is a spoken word artist, teaching artist, and anti-racist organizer. She is also an attorney in Washington State and currently completing a Masters of Education at the University of Washington with a focus on racial disproportionality and disparate practice in school exclusion policies. Nikkita has dedicated the last decade of her life to service in the Seattle Public Schools and the King County Youth Services Center. She is the recipient of the 2015 Seattle Office of Civil Rights Artist Human Rights Leader Award and was the 2014 Seattle Poetry National Team Coach and Grand Slam Champion.
Howard Harris Lifetime Peacemaker AwardAwarded annually since 2005 to a local peacemaker whose life's work in is in the spirit of Howard Harris, one of the founders of Bellingham's peace vigil.
